Andrew "Andy" Kenneth Reader, beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away on December 18th, 2024, at the age of 67, bringing his second battle with cancer to an end. Known for his kind heart, enduring optimism, and infectious laughter, Andy was a gift to all who knew him.

Born on December 29, 1956, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the youngest of four children, Andy was a devoted Florida Gators fan. He lived and breathed orange and blue.

Andy had a way of connecting with people. Whether showing up to support family and friends, explaining political nuances, or having a chuckle with a stranger, he was generous with his time. He served as an elder at Pilgrimage Presbyterian Church for many years.

Andy lived simply, loved fully, and laughed often, a legacy we will carry with us, along with fond memories of his unwavering support, kindness, and joy for life. Andy's remarkable ability to make people feel valued for who they are and accepted without judgment is something that will be an enduring part of his memory.

Andy is survived by his sister Pam Hertner, brother Rick Reader (wife Dee); nephews Rob Reader (wife Emily), Jeff Arkema (wife Stephanie), Ryan Reader; nieces Carolyn Reader, Lindsey Arkema, and Kelsey Reader; and cousins Dick Reader (wife Kathy) and Susan Armenia (husband Richard). He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Bernice Reader, sister Wendy Kinlaw, and brother-in-law Herb Hertner. Family was everything to Andy, whether by birth or marriage, there were no in-laws, only brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

In honor of Andy's life, the family invites you to a memorial service at 1:30pm on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Marietta Funeral Home 915 Piedmont Rd. Friends may meet family for one hour prior to the service.
