Obituary

Hungate, Beatrice "Betty" Elizabeth

Beatrice "Betty" passed away on November 8, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born March 8, 1931 in Liverpool, England and was predeceased by her parents, Richard Earnest Deboo and Evelyn Kidd Deboo.

She is survived by her ex-husband Donald Hungate; son, Phillip Hungate (Sherri); daughters, Patricia Hungate and Kimberly Lopez (Manuel); two grandchildren, Brynn Wilson and Forrest Wilson.

Betty was known for her loving devotion to her family.  She was known as the "cookie lady" and was a great cook and baker.  Betty had a humble heart and exemplified that attribute with her quiet generosity and kindness to others.  Annually, she especially enjoyed creating Christmas packages distributed by Samaritan's Purse across the world.  She was a long-time supporter of MUST Ministries, AMVETS, Boys Town and the Salvation Army.

Betty's quick wit and classic British humor brought much laughter and joy to her friends and family and even strangers.  She enjoyed trips to the casinos, window shopping, reading and sharing a good cup of hot tea with family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at the Marietta Funeral Home on Saturday, November 12, 2022 with family receiving guests at 12:00pm and the service at 1:00pm.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, please donate to Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child, Must Ministries, AMVETS, Boys Town or the Salvation Army in memory of Betty Hungate.
