Beryl Adina
Beckford
Jul 4, 1941 — Aug 10, 2019
Beryl Adina Hamilton-Beckford, age 78, was born in Jamaica on July 04, 1941. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Paulding Hospital, in Hiram Georgia. Her Home Going was in the presence of God and surrounded by her family. From her birth to her passing, she nourished people around her with love, faith, and a healthy love and fear of the Lord. She was truly a gift to this world.
She was born in Corn Hill, St. Mary Jamaica, born to Alma Steward and Eric Hamilton and was one of 13 brothers and sisters. At the age of 21, she married the love of her life, Vincent Beckford on April 22, 1962; she was blessed with 8 wonderful children, (Lloyd Beckford, Vincent Jr. Beckford, Pearnel Beckford-Henry, Uriah Beckford, Cecil Beckford, Barbara Beckford, Laura Beckford-Riddle and Janice Beckford), she was known for being a loving and devoted wife and mother. Later, she migrated to Canada then to the United States where she started her career as a Child and Home Care Giver. During her career, she worked for several amazing families, including the Seidlin family and the DeLong Family.
During their life together, Beryl & Vincent Sr. worshiped and served in two congregations (Oracabessa Church of God & East Flatbush Church of God) where she was very active in these communities. On Saturdays, she cooked to feed hundreds of homeless men, women and children in Brooklyn New York, and on Sundays she ushered and served her Church family which resulted in many awards.
Left to honor Beryl and remember her love are her Husband Vincent Beckford Sr, her two sisters Enid Hamilton and Esther Hamilton, her 8 children, 21 grandchildren, (Monique Beckford, Tanisha Beckford, Courtney Beckford, Aliyah Beckford, Odale Beckford, Daniella Beckford, Olivia Beckford, Kadian Henry, Philip Jr. Henry, Alexandria Beckford, Sara Beckford, Michaela Beckford, Jeramiah Beckford, Amara Beckford, Ameil Beckford, Aniyah Beckford, Joshua Riddle, Daniel Riddle, Elizabeth Riddle & Blanca Beckford) 1 great grandchild (Jahmir Beckford) and many nieces and nephews. Beryl was preceded in death by her parents, several brothers and sisters…
Beryl will be remembered as a beautiful bright light, shinning in the various communities and churches she served, and will be loved and remembered especially by her love one who remains.
