Betty Brake of Marietta, GA died October 8, 2021. She was 93 and a resident of Historic Roswell Place at the time of her passing.
Mrs. Brake, a loving wife, mother, and career homemaker, was born in Eloise, FL, and grew up in Arnoldsville, GA. After marriage, she and her husband moved to Athens, GA where her two children were born, and then to Cobb County in 1954 where she was a member of Eastside Baptist Church for 57 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lucyle Butts, her husband BW Brake, and her granddaughter Melissa (Missy) Pearce. She is survived by her daughter Gloria Pearce (Harry) of Woodstock, son Ronnie Brake (Linda) of Marietta, grandchildren Chris Pearce (Holli) of Dalton, Ga, and Lisa Brake Herring (Matt) of Sixmilebridge, Ireland, great-grandchildren Jake Pearce (Laura), Luke Pearce, Kyle Pearce, Zach Pearce, Katie Pearce, Eden Herring, Chas Jones, Stephen Jones, Hardy Jones, and great-great-granddaughter Ren Jones.
Visitation will be held Tuesday at 12:30pm at Eastside Baptist Church, 2450 Lower Roswell Rd. in Marietta, to be followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm. The interment will take place at Georgia Memorial Park Wednesday at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Eastside Baptist's Senior Adult ministry.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the staff at Historic Roswell Place and Capstone Hospice for the kindness, compassion, and support shown to Betty in her final days. We are grateful for their dedication and selflessness.
