Betty Winkler-Hendrix, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, at the age of 92.

Born Betty Jean Livingston on March 19, 1932, in Anawalt, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Mary Livingston. Betty was raised in Caldwell County, North Carolina, and graduated from Hudson High School. In 1951, she married the love of her life, Paul Nathan Winkler.

In 1956, Betty and Paul moved to Marietta, Georgia, where they would raise their family and start their careers at Lockheed. As a talented artist, Betty received many commendations for her illustrations in training manuals for the C-130, C-141, and C-5 aircraft. She retired in 1987 after 30 years of dedicated service as a technical illustrator.

A woman of deep faith and compassion, Betty found her greatest joy in caring for others. She was a loving caregiver to family and friends alike, always putting the needs of others first. Betty had a passion for gardening and often shared the fruits of her labor with those she loved.

Later in life she found love and companionship with her second husband, Elbert Hendrix, sharing a home together in Woodstock, Georgia.

Betty was preceded in death by her first husband of 57 years, Paul Winkler; her second husband, Elbert Hendrix; her parents; and her five brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her four sons: Terry (Dilya) Winkler, Gary (Gayle) Winkler, Chris (Nicole) Winkler, and Kelly (Alyssa) Winkler, and step-daughter, Myra (Melvin) Hunt. She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren: Ivan (Amy) Winkler, Jason (Melissa) Winkler, Hayden Winkler, Seth (Katie) Winkler, Jeremy Winkler, Serah Winkler, Charlotte (Noah) Monhaut, Andrew (Meredith Hughes) Winkler, Torie Winkler, Jeffrey Winkler, Ashleigh (Matthew) Arnold, and Thomas (Ashley) Kapperman. Betty is also survived by ten great-grandchildren: Mya, Abi, Hunter, Coen, Benjamin, Hazel, Caroline, Abigail, James, and Nora.

A celebration of Betty's life will be scheduled in the new year. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Agape Hospice , 100 Londonderry Ct, Ste 120, Woodstock, GA 30188.
