Beverly Carter Seawright, 92, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 7th at 11:00am at Roswell Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dr. Scott Weimer officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.  Burial will follow at 2:00pm at Green Lawn Cemetery.

Beverly passed away peacefully the day after her 92nd birthday, surrounded by her family, who loved her dearly.

After major heart surgery in 2013, doctors told her that her heart may only last about six months, yet she went on to live another twelve years. She was quite proud of that, knowing she had outlived expectations. Her life stood as a lasting reflection of perseverance and a deep faith and trust in God.

Beverly was born on January 27, 1934, in Birmingham, Alabama to Roy Thomas Carter, Sr. and Estella Estes Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband, William ("Bill") Ellis Seawright, Sr. with whom she shared thirty years of love and devotion until his passing in 1989; her parents; her sister, Marcella ("Marcy") Carter Zeigler; her brothers, Roy T. Carter, Jr., Paul Carter, and Robert E. Carter; and her grandson, Nicholas ("Nick") Woltering.

She is survived by her sister, Estella Carter Warfel; her son, William Ellis Seawright, Jr.; her daughters, Marcy Seawright Morian (Mark) and Sandra Seawright Woltering (Tim); her grandchildren, Sid Woltering (Danyelle), Amanda Morian, and Alyssa Morian; her great grandchildren, Luke Woltering, Dean Woltering, and Abigail Woltering, and many nieces and nephews.

Beverly grew up in Birmingham and later attended the University of Alabama, where she studied art - an interest and talent that remained central throughout her work and personal life.

She used her artistic talents throughout her career as a commercial artist: Beginning in 1956 she handled market research for the Progressive Farmer magazine, then she created newspaper layouts and sales flyers as Assistant Advertising Manager at Economy Auto (a chain of automotive and furniture stores), and then she was Advertising Manager for Jacobs Drugs, a chain of Georgia drug stores where the first Coca Cola was served. Her creative designs at Buckhead Advertising ranged from promoting products for many Atlanta businesses to designing Christmas cards and directories for many Atlanta families and social organizations.

She met her future husband, Bill, the first year she was in Atlanta, and they married the next year. After their son and two daughters were born and began school, her artistic endeavors resumed in several forms. Her talents were evident not only in her professional work but also in the many creative ways she expressed herself throughout her life.

She spent nearly twenty years volunteering for PTA, using her talents to create everything from nametags and program covers to convention stage sets. Her career kept going, designing freelance artwork for a local print shop and creating cosmetic displays for Eckerd Drugs. She decorated civic centers with backdrops for conventions, churches for weddings and auditoriums for meetings.

After her husband's passing, she kept busy with creative projects for family, church and friends.

Over a hundred friends and family had unique weddings due to her creative work making each wedding special, personal and beautiful.  She organized the Enrichment Center at Ray Thomas Memorial Presbyterian Church and led operations for the first three years.  She helped friends and family any way she could to make things more beautiful, including spending hours restoring an old painting or quilt, altering and embellishing attire for special events, or creating centerpieces for celebrations.

She took great pride in her beautiful backyard that she designed. She found great joy in the flowers and trees, and in the birds and deer that visited.  She enjoyed a love/hate relationship with the squirrels and chipmunks, delighting in their playful antics, but also getting frustrated that they made such a mess of her flower beds and yard décor.

Beverly was deeply devoted to her family and especially treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether raising, counseling, helping, or just watching them succeed, they were her greatest enjoyment. She was also a devoted and faithful member of Roswell Presbyterian Church for many years.

Beverly Carter Seawright will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her creativity, and the warmth she brought to those around her. Her legacy lives on through the generations she so dearly loved.
