Bobby L. Smith, age 85, passed away on January 4, 2022.  A graveside service for Mr. Smith will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022, at 11:30 AM at Georgia National Cemetery.

Mr. Smith served his country in the US Army in the data processing unit. When he returned to the states, he used that experience and became a computer programmer for the JM Tull Metals Company. Mr Smith was a member of Awtrey-Westwood Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He will always be remembered for his generosity and compassion. He was the kind of man that would give you the shirt off his back and he never met a stranger..

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kathlyn Smith; children, Cindy (Charles) Reece, Amy Moyer, and Chuck Smith; sister, Rebecca Wilbanks; grandchildren, Keri (Colby) Crane, Josh (Katie) Reece, Aislyn Moyer, and Iain Smith; 4 great-grandchildren, with another one on the way; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 7 from 4pm to 7pm at Marietta Funeral Home.
