Bonnie Jean (Seabolt/Melton) Wilson passed peacefully from this Earth to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, November 30, 2024, after a long battle with dementia and kidney disease.

Born on April 1, 1939, in Marietta, GA to Edward Seabolt and Flatey (Wilson) Seabolt, she grew up in the company of her siblings: Ruby Smith, Howard Seabolt (deceased), Emma Brown (deceased), Jane Clark (deceased), Bertha Sligh (deceased), Birdia Ethridge (deceased), Hazel Kerr (deceased), Katherine Enckler (deceased), George Seabolt (deceased) and Louise Farmer.

Born during the Depression, Bonnie learned to persevere as she, her parents, and siblings worked the family farm. Between seasonal farming, Bonnie attended Sprayberry School.
With limited 'down' time, Bonnie focused on learning as much as possible to advance beyond her 9th-grade education. She was an avid reader and never left the house without a book or a crossword puzzle. Bonnie made many cherished friends during her 34 years as a school bus driver for Cobb Country Schools.

Proud mother to Dana (Melton) diLorenzo (Rick), Allen Melton, and Jerry Melton (Michele), Bonnie's greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kristin (Melton) Patterson (Daniel-husband, Mason-great grandson, and Bonnie Claire, great-granddaughter, and namesake), Dalton Melton, Hunter Melton, Garrett Melton, Clark diLorenzo, and Connor diLorenzo.

To spend even more time with her grandchildren, Bonnie happily served as a volunteer reader in elementary schools and after-school programs (often showing up with baked treats for the teachers).  She rarely missed her grandchildren's school performances/sporting events, etc., and was the best "Baseball Nanny", often showing up to watch (and cheer) even at practice.

Bonnie was the proud aunt to many beloved nieces and nephews and enjoyed planning/celebrating their milestone birthday celebrations. She often planned family 'get-togethers' that included good food, good times, and, Bingo games

A lifelong follower of Christ, Bonnie kept detailed notes of her daily activities and prayers. She leaves behind many volumes of journals for her family to read and enjoy as they carry on her lasting legacy of love.

The family will receive visitors from 12 pm - 1 pm on Tuesday, December 3, at Marietta Funeral Home Chapel at 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066. Bonnie's nephew, Reverend Eddie Kerr, will lead a Celebration of Life service on Tuesday, December 3, at 1 pm at Marietta Funeral Home Chapel at 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066.  (Private committal service to follow).
