Obituary

Charles "Charlie" Paine, age 77, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away on August 17, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle (Desilets) Paine. They were married 51 years ago on August 26, 1972 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

Charlie was born in Providence, Rhode Island to Alton and Florence (Murray) Paine. As a young boy, he loved the Boy Scouts and playing Little League. He served six years in the Air National Guard in Rhode Island and retired from FM Global Insurance in 2010 after 46 years of service. He was a longtime member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church where he was a member of the United Methodist Men. He chaired for many years the annual United Methodist Men's Golf Tournament and was involved in starting the Springdale North Carolina Men's yearly golf trip. He was also a member of the Emmaus Community.

Charlie had many passions; his dog, Garth, golf, the Atlanta Braves, the Boston Bruins, the Rhode Island Red's hockey team, and the New England Patriots. He was an excellent bowler, once hitting the perfect score. While living in New England he was on the ski slopes often. He loved traveling with his wife, family and friends. Yearly trips to Hilton Head Island over the years were a favorite.

He lived a life that was filled with love, laughter, family and friends. He will be missed!

Along with his wife, Michelle, he is survived by his three loving daughters, Melissa, Lisa and Amy Paine of Canton, Georgia; his sister, Beverly Fuller of Warwick, Rhode Island; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marc and Elizabeth Desilets of Mapleville, Rhode Island and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, August 26th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew UMC, 3455 Canton Rd., Marietta, Georgia 30066. His wife and daughters will receive attendees from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in the Narthex of the Church Sanctuary.

There will be a light reception in the church Fellowship Hall of the Keheley Center following the service.

In lieu of flowers, Charlie has asked that donations be made to:
