Charlotte Ruth Brown, 70, passed away at Wellstar Kennestone hospital quietly on Thursday, May 21, 2020 after losing her battle with an aggressive cancer, with her children by her side.  Charlotte was born on November 12, 1949 in Van Buren, Arkansas, one of 15 children.   After graduating high school in 1968, she wanted to see more of the United States, so her and 3 friends set out to see what else was out there.  After traveling the country by bus, she found herself in Atlanta, where she settled down and called it home.  She worked as a waitress in 1969 where she would meet her future husband, Luther and they would wed later that year.  They would later have two children, Sandra (Sandy) and William (Will), and in 1975 they would move to Cobb County and raise their family.

In the late eighties, she decided to return to the work force as she was becoming bored with staying at home, as her children were growing up.  She worked a couple of different jobs until one day she met a few brothers in the early nineties and they asked her to come and work for them in a new restaurant they were opening in Marietta, GA.  She stayed at Williamson Brothers Bar-B-Q for the rest of her career, going from full time to part time status until she officially retired at the end of 2018.

Charlotte had a big heart and while she wasn't close to her family back home in Arkansas, she was close to her husband, Luther's family and included the people from Williamson Brothers and their families as her own. Over the years, she met so many wonderful people there and loved them all and called them her family.

Charlotte is preceded in death by both of her parents, Bill and Jewell, her husband, Luther (2014), 1 brother, 1 sister, 1 half brother and 3 half sisters. She is survived by her children, Sandra Brown of Marietta; Will Brown (Tish) of Canton and her three grandchildren, Bailey, Emma, and Chloe.  She also left behind 5 sister in laws, 3 brother in laws, several nieces and nephews, a brother and sister, along with 3 half brothers and 3 half sisters and countless others who loved her.
