Craig Stephen Woodward, age 73, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on May 9, 2026.

Craig was born on July 7, 1952, in Minneapolis, MN to Betty and Marion Woodward. He graduated from Lanier High School in Macon, GA and from the University of Georgia in 1974 with a BBA: Banking and Finance degree, while enjoying all that college life had to offer a young man in the early '70s.

In 1980 he co-founded Interactive Technology Company as CFO with Dan Myers, joined by Bobby Koscheski and Joe Spatarella, kicking off his career in technology, and later following in his father's Bellsouth footsteps with a career in the telco industry.

In 1985, Craig married Juanita Allgeier, and they shared many happy years together as Craig took a role in 1988 with a British Telecom (BT) subsidiary in Atlanta, GA, which lead to a move with BT to Singapore in 1991. The couple enjoyed many years together in Singapore as Craig moved on to a role in 1996 as VP and GM role at Equant Network Services (later France Telecom's Orange Network Services), and then back to BT in 2004 as Head of Services and Operations -AP.

While in Singapore, Craig was a Board Member (2005-8) of Atlantis Resources, a pioneering renewable energy company, and a Board Director, Treasurer of the American Association of SG (2009-11).

During their many years in Singapore, Craig and Juanita enjoyed travelling across the Asia Pacific region, and many other exciting destinations. With a group of social friends from Hong Kong, the Bela Vista Ball friends, they made lifelong friends as the international group travelled together for many years. They enjoyed parties in 18th century palaces in St Petersburg, safaris in S Africa and Zimbabwe, celebrated the HK handover in 1997, welcomed 2000 from the Sydney Harbour, enjoyed mojitos and the Tropicana cabaret in Havana, waltzed at Balls in Vienna, and learned how to tango in Argentina. Craig is remembered by his many Bela Vista friends as the man with a warm smile, happy laughter with friends, a voracious reader, and always willing to take on a political debate, although many times referred to as a Champagne socialist.

The couple enjoyed annual visits with many friends to their holiday home at Lake Tahoe, enjoying skiing in the winters and hiking in the summers. In 2011, Craig moved to Lake Tahoe where he enjoyed life as a Real Estate specialist for Deb Howard and Co., licensed in CA and NV. He also served as a Member of the Local Government Affairs Committee of the S Lake Tahoe Association of Realtors and served as the City Planning Commissioner for S Lake Tahoe from 2015-19.

Craig returned to Atlanta in 2019 to retire and enjoy time with his family and many Georgia friends, including best friend, Geoffrey Kridel and wife, Sharon.

Throughout his life, Craig valued relationships — with family, lifelong friends, colleagues, and business partners alike. He believed trust, loyalty, humor, and kindness mattered most, and those who knew him will remember the warmth, wisdom, and encouragement he brought into their lives.

Craig will be deeply missed by his brother, Mark Woodward and wife, Carol, of Apex, NC, his sister Jane Matthews of Marietta, GA, 8 nieces and nephews, his godsons, and his former wife and lifelong friend, Juanita Woodward. He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Marion Woodward, and his brother, Neil Woodward.

A Celebration of Life will be held June 6, 2026, at Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Rd, Marietta, GA 30066 beginning at 2:00 pm. All are welcome to attend .
