Della Christine "Chris" Hansen Reed, age 80, passed away peacefully and gracefully on Monday, April 13, 2026.

Born on June 30, 1945, in Manistee, MI, to Clyde and Helen Tolbert Hansen, Chris dedicated her life to the service of others. A graduate of Manistee High School and the Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing, she served as a head nurse over labor and delivery and worked in intensive care and emergency medicine before her retirement.

Beyond her professional life, Chris was a woman of vibrant passions and community spirit. She was an active member and past board member of the Classic Glass Corvette Club in Marietta, GA, where she served as both a National Corvette Museum and Sunshine Ambassador. An avid traveler and cruise lover, she and her late husband, Doug, traversed the globe visiting the wonders of every civilization. Chris was also an amateur radio operator (N3CFV) and a member of the Georgia State Golf Association and the River North Women's Golf Association. Known for her love of speed, she joyfully drove her C8 Corvette, honoring a family passion for motorcycles and fast cars.

Chris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Doug; her parents; and her older sister, Denise Hansen Rowland. She is survived by her daughters: Kendra Reed and Kimberly Reed Giles; Granddaughter: Taylor Giles; Brother-in-law: Howard (Bud) Rowland and a community of countless friends who knew her as a respected confidant who "never knew a stranger."

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the Marietta Funeral Home. Address: 915 Piedmont Rd, Marietta, GA 30066
