Diana Butterworth Rich passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on August 23, 2026.  Diana was cut from a different cloth.  She taught those around her all about spirit, a sense of adventure, and how to live life a little wild sometimes.  She lived loudly, joyfully, fearlessly, and always with a little bit of mischief. Fun-loving, adventurous, and just wild enough to keep everyone around her on their toes, she had a way of turning ordinary moments into unforgettable stories.  Whether she was chasing a new adventure, laughing until she cried, or convincing someone to join her in a plan that probably wasn’t entirely thought through, life was simply more fun when Diana was around.

She was deeply loved by her family and cherished by friends who were lucky enough to know her.  She never met a stranger, rarely turned down a good time, and leaves behind a lifetime of laughter, stories, adventures, and memories that will continue to be shared for years to come.  Diana is survived by a beautiful legacy in her two sons and daughter; Jonathan Butterworth, Mitchell Edwards, and Mitzi Taylor Rich; six grandchildren who called her Nana: Josh Butterworth (Gladys), James Butterworth, Allison Davis, Hudson Edwards, Jadynn Willis Rich, Scarlett Harrison Rich, and two great-granddaughters, Mila Butterworth and Aurora Butterworth.  Diana had a large and loving family including her parents Dorothy Johnsey Taylor and Harold Taylor of Woodstock, GA., her sister Debra Cutler Case (Bruce), of Woodstock, GA, brothers, Michael Butterworth (Diane), Robert Butterworth (Susan), and Charlie Butterworth (Janet) of Canton, GA, and sister, Rebecca Cline (David) of Holly Springs, NC.  She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.  Diana is reunited with loved ones who predeceased her including her father, Louis Butterworth, her grandmother, Mamie Shuler Johnsey, her Uncle Paul Shuler, grandparents, Albert and Annie Butterworth, brother, David “Crockett” Butterworth, and sisters, Shelia Butterworth Boyd and Kylie Butterworth.  The family will receive friends at Marietta Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 27th.  A celebration of Diana’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Marietta Funeral Home.  To send flowers in Diana’s memory, please visit Woodstock Flowers and Gifts.
