Diana D. Edholm, age 93, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, October 30th, 2024.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on September 13th, 1931, she graduated Pulaski High School in 1948. Her professional career concluded as an executive assistant, working for companies such as Schlitz, Cleaver-Brooks, Pan Am Airlines, Equitable Life, and lastly, the William Swanson Trust. From 1972 to 1978 she volunteered with the International Women's Association in Côte d'Ivoire, West Africa, serving three times as the organization's President. For her contributions to the women and children of Côte d'Ivoire, she received a Knighthood in the National Order of Côte d'Ivoire.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Rolf G. Edholm, who passed away on July 24th, 2001, her sister, Dorothy Jane, and her parents, Casmir Pluskota and Annette Borchert, née Synovitz, and Annette's husband George. She is survived by her son, Brian H. Edholm and his wife Elise; 4 grandchildren, Kristen E. Waltz and her husband Nicholas; Lauren E. Edholm and her husband Justin Pedersen; Charles S. Edholm; and Matthew B. Edholm and his wife Jordan; and 9 great-grandchildren (while happily awaiting her 10th great-grandchild from Matthew), Evangeline, Gus, Dexter, Simon, Bowie, and Abbigail Waltz (Kristen) and Clive, Kristen, and Estella Edholm (Matthew), 2 grand-puppies, MJ and Ollie and 1 grand-kitty, Mittens (Lauren).
Diana truly loved everyone in her family, and they were her greatest source of joy, especially in her later years. She was surrounded by her family the last weeks of her life and many family members were in her presence at home when she passed peacefully in her sleep. Her family is celebrating her life in a private ceremony and condolences may be sent to the family through Marietta Funeral Home.
