Dorothy Eva Barker, 95, of Marietta, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019.  A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8 ^th ,  2:00 p.m. at Legacy Church in Marietta with Pastor Nate Nielson officiating.

Born in Chicago, Illinois on March 20, 1924, she was the daughter of the late David and Eva (Selvig) Sundberg.   She attended public schools in Chicago.  In 1994, she moved from Oak Park, Illinois to Kenosha.  Then in 2009, she moved to Marietta, Georgia.

She married William Robinson in Durham, North Carolina on July 17, 1943.  He died April 15, 1951.  On September 27, 1952, she married Frank Barker.  He died December 5, 1989.

After raising five children, she worked for 17 years as an office assistant for Snow Bros. in Oak Park, Illinois, retiring in 1986.

While living in Kenosha, Dorothy was a member of the Kenosha Senior Center and Red Hat Society.  She attended Sunday worship services at Meadowmere Assisted Living.  She loved swimming, bowling, dancing, and playing cards.  At the Beech Pointe Apartments, she enjoyed being involved in all the activities available including computer lessons.

In 2009, Dorothy moved to Marietta, Georgia to be with her daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter.  There she was a member of Legacy Church.

Survivors include three sons, Bill Robinson (Winston, Oregon), Fran (Debbie) Barker (Elmhurst, Illinois) and Geoff Barker (Colorado Springs, Colorado; two daughters, Lyn Robinson (Marietta, Georgia) and Gail (Tom) Pierce (Estacada, Oregon); a sister, Ruth (Marty) McCarthy (Crete, Illinois); six grandchildren, Bill (Kara) Frenkel, Wendy (Frenkel) Gordon, David (Amanda) Barker, Kristen (John) Freaney, Kevin Sadowski and Michael Winkens; great-granddaughter, Kaisha Skye Frenkel and great-grandsons, Benjamin David and Peter Joseph Barker. Two brothers, Bernard and Howard Sundberg, preceded her in death.
