Douglas "Doug"
Carlin
Feb 27, 1953 — Sep 12, 2025
Douglas Earl Carlin, age 72, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on September 12, 2025. Born on February 27, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky, Doug lived a life full of laughter, passion, and unforgettable stories.
After graduating high school, Doug pursued his love of baseball, playing in the minor leagues for the Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds. Though his time on the field was brief, his competitive spirit and love for the game stayed with him throughout his life.
Doug's true passion, however, was classic cars. He spent most of his life working on them, remodeling homes, and building a life alongside his children. He ran a custom van detailing business with his brother Gene and later traveled the country hauling and delivering cars-always happiest behind the wheel or under the hood.
He is survived by his children Brad Carlin and Natalie Carlin, and his grandchildren Max Carlin, Paccha Carlin, and Monserath Carlin, all of whom carry forward his legacy of humor, hard work, and heart.
Doug never met a stranger. His infectious sense of humor, love of storytelling, and mischievous pranks made him unforgettable to everyone who crossed his path. If Doug teased you, you knew you were loved.
His favorite quote was "Seize the day," and he lived by it-always pushing forward with a positive attitude and a drive to get things done. He loved attending car shows and often brought his wife and children along, instilling in them a shared appreciation for the beauty of vintage automobiles.
Doug and his former wife Robin cherished their time at their cabin in Blue Ridge, Georgia, where they created lasting memories with Brad and Natalie during their childhood. The mountains were a place of peace and joy for Doug, a reflection of the quiet strength and warmth he carried with him.
Doug will be deeply missed, but his stories, laughter, and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
