Eddie Lee Smith, Jr., 76, of Marietta, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019.  A Memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, March 11 in the chapel of Marietta Funeral Home. Eddie Lee Smith, Jr, the son of Alice and Eddie Lee Smith, Sr. was born October 20, 1942 in Brooklet, Georgia. Eddie received his education in the Chatham County school system and attended Alfred E. Beach High School in Savannah. He was employed for years at Clairol in Stamford, CT and New York Times home delivery in Fairfield County Connecticut. He is survived by his wife, Laurel; three daughters, Wendy Smith, Robin Stewart (Bryant) & Stacy Smith, their mother Louise Green Smith and son Eddie Kristopher Smith; mother, Alice K. Smith; brothers, Byron Smith (Sheila), Gregory Smith (Michelle); sisters, Marjorie Smith and Doris Smith; grandchildren Andrea Wilson (Brandon), Tanya Smith, Bryant Stewart Jr. ( Gabriell ), Brendan Stewart, Jalen Metellus ; two adored great-grandchildren, Myron Shepard, Jr., Ariana Kmiec plus a host of nieces and nephews. To Eddie an effective father helps his children to recognize that no matter what stage of development they are at, they are worthwhile. Eddie loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren more than words can express. He always said that children are the only things you can call your own. He was so proud of each and every one and the accomplishments they achieved.
