Edwin Wallace
Reid
Jan 28, 1940 — Jul 31, 2023
Edwin Reid, 83, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11:00am at Liberty Church in Marietta, Georgia.
Edwin W. Reid (Eddie), was born in the city of Colón, Republic of Panama, where he attended Rep. de Bolivia Elementary school, and Colegio Abel Bravo High School. He was the son of Harold and Eugenia Reid. He had five siblings, Alicia Reid, Antonio Reid, Carlos Reid, Victor Reid, and Ricardo Reid. He was a postal worker at the Panamá Canal Zone, a job which he enjoyed fully, and became a part of his life, even after retirement. He exemplified what it meant to be organized, always had things in order, knew exactly where to find the smallest of things, and whatever anyone needed, he always had it. In 1967 he met, and later married Lidia Reid, with whom he created a loving home for each other and their children. As a testimony to the kind of man he was, he left the life he knew and loved, to move to the U.S with the sole purpose of providing a better life and create new opportunities for his family. He was an avid N.Y Yankees fan, so much so, that he went to work for them after he retired. He attended their games regularly. He loved Geography and could entertain a well-versed conversation in the subject. He was a loving husband to his wife, a caring and selfless father, and grandfather, and a great brother. He is survived by his wife Lidia Reid, three of his siblings, his eleven grandchildren, and his five children, Orlando Reid, Tanyi Reid, Reinaldo Reid, Roxana Reid, and Javier Reid.
