Emma (Seabolt) Brown, 87 of Acworth, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 8, 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Marietta Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Kerr officiating.  Burial will follow in the Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.

Predeceased by loving husband, Charles D. Brown.

Mother to four children – Jackie Brown, Vickie Brown, Tammie Gruhn, and Mark Brown (deceased).

Beloved Mawmaw and nannie to 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Survived also by her sisters,  Ruby Smith, Jane Clark, Bonnie Wilson, Hazel Kerr and Louise Farmer and several nieces & nephews.

Born in Kennesaw, Emma grew up in Marietta, Ga, and lived there all of her life with her parents (Edward and Flatey Seabolt) and many siblings before marrying Charles.  Emma was employed in her younger years at Owenby Mfg. Co and taught clogging classes that she loved.  She was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church.

One cannot consider Emma without picturing her with her husband, Charles. Emma and Charles will be remembered most of all for their love for each other and commitment to family. She was beautiful, and the first time Charles saw her, he said he would marry her. They were married for 64 years, devoted to each other and all of their family - down to every last great-grandchild. She enjoyed square dancing, gardening, and garage sales. She spent her days as a faithful housewife, raising children and grandchildren and providing a sense of constant and home base for her family. Her home was always a place for a bowl of vegetable soup and homemade cornbread.   She will be missed by her family and friends.
