Eric Lacksley Stewart, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 12, 2020.

Mr. Stewart left behind to cherish his memories and to remember his love for God, his beloved wife and partner for 42 years, Delma Deloris (Harris) Stewart; his son, Andrew Dale Stewart; his daughter, Erica Natalie Ingram and her husband, Damien Ingram; his two grandchildren, Nicholas and Sarah Ingram; his brothers, Dermy Stewart; Ivan Stewart, Joe Stewart, Aston Stewart, Calvin Stewart; three sisters, Lurleen Roper, Beverley Palmer, and Caroline Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who loved him very much.

Eric was born and raised in Alexandria, St. Ann, Jamaica, to Wilfred and Maybell Stewart on November 04, 1940.  He was one of seven brothers and four sisters.

In his early years, Mr. Stewart graduated from High School and went on to attend trade school where he became a certified auto mechanic. He was employed by the Ministry of Health as an ambulance driver for 17 years.

Mr. Stewart married the love of his life, Miss Delma Harris, on June 23, 1979, lived a blissful marriage for forty-one years, and had their one and only loved son, Andrew Stewart.  He complements his wife a lot, and loved her cooking and baking dearly.  She will miss cooking for him, and how much he enjoyed the meals she prepared for him.

In 1981, Mr. Stewart migrated to the United States and lived with his family in New Jersey. He was employed as a production worker at Johnson & Johnson for ten years. He then went on to work at Continental Bakery for eight years before moving to Kennesaw, Georgia in 2004.

Mr. Stewart was a very hard worker who took pride in his work and truly cherished his co-workers and friends. His hard work and dedication earned him many accolades amongst his employers and co-workers.

Mr. Stewart is known for being a loving and devoted husband and father. His friends and neighbors knew him for his kind heart, generous spirit, and love for the Lord.  From a young age, he cared for people around him and was passionate about helping others; especially the less fortunate, single, or low income mothers.

His family and friends remember him as a quiet and peaceful person, always cheerful and smiling, and a joy to be around.  He had plenty of love, faith, and a healthy love and fear of the Lord.  He was truly a gift from God.

He spends time reading his Bible and working in his yard.  His favorite bible passages were Psalm 27 and Psalm 91 which he recited every chance he got.  He often sings his favorite hymnal, such as: Rock of Ages, Cleft For Me; Pass me not, O Gentle Savior; and Father Along.

He was upraised and now he is down-set. His family and friends hope to see him again on the streets of gold in Heaven.  May he rest in peace.

A private funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, Georgia 30066.  He will be laid to rest at the Kennesaw Memorial Park, 1306 Whitlock Ave. NW, Marietta, Georgia 30064.
