Ervin (Gene) Tinsley of Marietta Ga. Passed away at the age of 87, on Sunday, December 29, 2024. He was born in Dawsonville Ga., on July 21, 1937.  He was the son of the late Rev. Ervin Tinsley & Marget Lee Tinsley, of Dawsonville Ga. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Tinsley, (1965), Thelma June Godfrey Tinsley, (1998), & Ozell McKenna Tinsley, (2024).  He was a Baptist Minister for three Churches, and retired from Lockheed Martin aircraft systems, in Marietta Ga. where he was a Machinist & tool Specialist.  He loved music, woodworking, painting, gardening, & preaching the Gospel.  He was also a Graduate of Martha Berry high school in Rome Ga. 1957.

He is survived by two sisters, Barbra Tinsley Jett, Punta Gorda Fla. (Wife) of James A. Jett, & Joan Tinsley Adams, Cartersville Ga. (Wife) of Richard A. Adams. Two children, April Tinsley, Tucker Ga., David E Tinsley, & (Wife) Pam, Milledgeville Ga., Three Grandchildren, Zach Tinsley, Kristin Tinsley & Maelyn Tinsley, & several nieces & nephews.

We have no doubt that he is in Heaven now, a place he always said would be his ultimate & final destination.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 1:00pm April 5, 2025 at Marietta Funeral home.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
