Evelyn Petty Hensley

Evelyn Petty Hensley, 91, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at her home surrounded by family. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at Marietta Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 4:00pm , at Marietta Funeral Home. A private interment will be conducted later at the Georgia National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband of 71 years, Clyde Hollis Hensley. Evelyn was born in Carrolton, Georgia on July 27, 1931 to James and Lilly Mae Petty. She had a younger sister, Jeanette Tinsley and a younger brother, Bobby Petty and younger sister Sue Petty Dunn. Evelyn's husband Clyde had four children together; Linda Hensley Dunn married to James Dunn, Larry Hensley married to Beverly Harper Hensley, Candy Hensley Bramlett married to Mark Bramlett, and Terri Hensley Brumit married to Randy Brumit. Evelyn and Clyde had 10 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. She loved her Family, Friends, Church, Atlanta Braves Baseball Games, Cooking Southern Food, Old Time Bluegrass, Country and Gospel Music and above all else Jesus Christ. Evelyn always had a warm heart and soft ear for any that came to find comfort and direction for life. Her conversations always focused back to God and His comfort and as she would often say; "His love that is far better than anything the world can offer." Flowers can be sent to the Marietta Funeral Home.
