Florence "Flo"
Mabry Ingram
Mar 13, 1934 — Sep 20, 2023
Marietta
Florence "Flo" Ruth Mabry Ingram, age 89, known by many as Gran or Granny Flo and a few as Ruby, passed away on Wednesday, September 20th, 2023. Flo was one of 11 children of William Lee & Edna Jenkins Mabry. Raised in Sandy Springs and later Marietta, GA, graduating from Acworth High School.
Flo met and fell in love with her husband of over 71 years, Joe Ingram. She soon followed him to Pearl Harbor while serving our country as his faithful steward and volunteering with many projects at the Naval base and the surrounding Honolulu area. Her devotion to serve others was her signature in life. She was always supportive of anyone & everyone she met. She was a faithful & devoted wife while raising three children. Flo was a long-time member of Greers Chapel Baptist Church. Flo would always welcome anyone, anytime to come over, have supper, and maybe spend the night. She would always say "there's plenty of room, and maybe we'll just have to make a pallet on the floor for anyone". If there was not enough food, she would just do without herself but would make sure everyone else had something to eat.
Flo was always known as having grace, patience, and a gentle spirit. She displayed these qualities every day of her life. No one can recall Flo ever making a comment about anyone that was anything but positive. She would always tell us how important FAMILY was and she was thankful to God for us all being so close. She was always active supporting her husband in all his business ventures and her children in all their activities. She was always insistent that her children were raised in the church and she gave many years ensuring Greers Chapel was a base for her entire family.
Flo was preceded in death by just one short day by her husband, Joe Ingram. Flo is survived by her sons, Doug Ingram & his wife Karen, Tim Ingram & his wife Deannine, daughter, Dawn Cox & her husband Jeff. Her brother Don Mabry & his wife Patsy and sister Martha Brown. Grandchildren: Brooke Courtenay & her husband Casey, Josh Ingram, Ross Ingram & his wife Sarah, Cason Ingram & his wife Jennifer, Kaitlin Ingram, Jordan Castardi & her husband Steven, Erica Commins & her husband Will, Tyler Cox & his wife Ciara, Austin Cox & his wife Marissa. Flo is also survived by several great grand-children: Charlotte Courtenay, Sophie Courtenay, Emma Ingram, Sadie Ingram, Lauren Ingram, Rachel Ingram, Zaiah Castardi, Collins Castardi, Finn Commins, Mabry Commins, & Indigo Cox. Additionally, Flo also had nearly fifty nieces & nephews. Flo was preceded in death by five sisters; Marie Barnes, Laura Cooper, Sylvia Pirkle, Geraldine Clark, and Mary Bennett and also three brothers; Doyle, Herb, and Pug Mabry.
