Obituary

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Frank Edward Campo Sr., on January 12, 2024, at the age of 77.

Frank was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina on August 27, 1946, the son of the late Francis Edward Campo and Olga Marie Campo, who instilled in him the values of kindness, love of family, and a strong work ethic. On December 27, 1969, Frank embarked on a lifelong journey of love and commitment when he married his soulmate, Linda Herrington Campo. Together, they created a beautiful family and shared countless treasured memories.

During his time in the Marines, Frank served in Japan, where he honed his skills and demonstrated his dedication to his country. His adventurous spirit led him to travel extensively throughout his lifetime, making numerous cherished memories.

He had a passion for spending time with his family and lifelong buddies, playing all sorts of card, board and computer games. His love of cars was evident in his ownership of four Alfa Romeos, which he enjoyed cruising around with the top down.

Frank devoted 12 years to working with the Department of Family and Childrens Services. He was also an accomplished entrepreneur, owning and operating multiple businesses throughout his life.

Faith was an integral part of Frank's life, as he was a devoted member of the Transfiguration Catholic Church and their charismatic prayer group. He found solace and strength within the walls of the church, nourishing his soul and connecting with others who shared his devotion. His love for the Lord will carry on through many generations.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Linda, who stood by his side through thick and thin, sharing an unbreakable bond. He is also survived by his children; Lorraine (Ron) Hartwig, Woodstock, GA, Frank (Tisha) Campo Jr., Acworth, GA, John (Lori) Campo, Woodstock, GA, Rachel (Jesse) Rollins, Acworth, GA, sister; Janis (Marty) Engelstein, Albany, NY, brother; Philip (Dawn) Campo, Hamburg, NJ; as well as 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many other cherished family and friends.

As we gather to celebrate the life of Frank E Campo Sr., we invite friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by him to join us in honoring his memory. The family will receive visitors at Marietta Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 5:00PM – 8:00PM. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024  at 2:00PM at Transfiguration Catholic Church. A reception at Transfiguration Catholic Church will be immediately following the funeral mass.

Although Frank's physical presence will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, integrity, generosity and adventure will continue to inspire and guide us in our own lives.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MUST Ministries or St. Vincent de Paul through Transfiguration Catholic Church , in honor of Frank's commitment to improving the lives of children and families in need.

May the soul of Frank E. Campo Sr. rest in eternal peace, knowing that he made a positive and lasting impact on the world around him.
