Gary Hugh Towns, age 66, of Marietta passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 11am in the chapel of Marietta Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery.

Gary was a lifelong resident of Cobb County.  He was an accomplished musician learning to play the guitar at the age of 8, performing as the Midnight Magic Band for forty-years.

Gary had a passion for helping neighbors and friends.  He was also a car enthusiast and bought, sold, and traded countless classic and muscle cars.

He earned his Bachelor's Degree while working for Cobb County Fleet as the Fleet Supervisor for twenty-four years before retiring in 2019.  He was working part-time for the Cobb County Sheriff's Office at the time of death.

Gary was survived by his loving wife, Mary Towns; son, Robert Towns; stepsons, Brian, Greg, and John Tesch; grandsons, Blake and Braydon Towns; brothers, Charles, Murl, Fred, Ronnie, and Kenneth Towns; sister, Shirley Fossett, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Mazie Towns; sister, Betty Jean Towns; brother, Jackie Towns.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
