George E. Elliott, Sr. 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2024 in his hometown of Marietta, Georgia. George was born December 28, 1936 to Vera and George Columbus Elliott, Marietta, Georgia. He was a graduate of Mount Bethel Junior High and attended Sprayberry High School. He went to work for Coca-Cola Bottling Company when he was 16 years old and retired 44 years later.

He played basketball for Cobb County and Mount Bethel High School. He loved gardening and was known for growing the biggest and best tomatoes. He was an avid hunter, bowled for the Coca-Cola bowling league, and loved Nascar and football, both College and NFL. Throughout his life he donated to several veteran and religious charitable organizations. But most of all, he loved spending time and traveling with his family.

He is survived by his sons; George Edward (Ed) Elliott Jr., Anthony (Tony) Parks Elliott (spouse Tammy Elliott), daughter, Kim Lee England (spouse Michael England), 3 grandchildren; Christopher Elliott, Anthony England, and Steven England, 5 great-grandchildren, brother, Bobby Elliott (spouse Linda Elliott), and sisters; Vivian Hipple and Martha (Mot) Loudermilk.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Bell Elliott, brothers; Roy Elliott and Virgil Elliott, and sister, Velma Jackson.

The family will receive visitors at Marietta Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Funeral service for Mr. Elliott will take place on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 11:00AM in the chapel at Marietta Funeral Home. Entombment will immediately follow the service at Georgia Memorial Park.
