Obituary

Hannelore Anna Boemanns, 97, of Woodstock, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 18, 2024.

She was born in Duisburg, Germany on May 16, 1926. She was the daughter of Franz and Anna Hommersom. She completed her schooling in Germany and worked during the war years for the local newspaper. After the war, she went to work for the US Military Forces in Germany. In 1948, she immigrated to the United States and married Capt. Herman Joseph Boemanns. They raised six children as they traveled with the military and then settled in East Point, Georgia in 1962. She worked for Atlanta Truck Parts Company as an accountant for 18 years. She was an active member of Westside Christian Church and East Point Christian Church.

In 2002, she moved to Kennesaw, Georgia, and then to Woodstock, Georgia in 2012. She was a member of Real Life Christian Church. She enjoyed time spent with her family, visiting with her friends, needlework, crocheting, reading, and making chocolate chip cookies for her many grateful loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Franz and Anna Hommersom, and her brothers, Theodor and Franz Hommersom.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children; R. John Boemanns (Penny) of Acworth, GA, Bonnie Foulds (Jude) of Charlotte, NC, Ted Boemanns (Catherine) of Villa Rica, GA, Linda Rose (David) of Mabelton, GA, Emily Boemanns of Woodstock, GA, and Carol Boemanns (Tom Rowley) of Villa Rica, GA. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Marietta Funeral Home in Marietta, Georgia. The family will receive visitors for two hours prior to the service.

Hannelore Boemanns will be laid to rest at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens in Acworth, Georgia.

Memorial gifts may be made to Real Life Christian Church Missions Fund.
