Helen Mae Womack Green passed away on Monday June 29, 2020 in Marietta, GA.

She was born in Dooly County, Georgia in 1923 to James O. Womack and Minnie Lee Allen Womack.  She was one of nine children including Ruth Womack Eaton, James Womack, Edwin Womack, Louise Womack Hall, Margaret Womack Franks, Mildred Womack Pearson, Jimmy Womack and one surviving sister, Juanita Womack Young (Flint Michigan).

She was married to William Arthur (W. A.) Green of Valdosta, Georgia and is survived by her children: Regenia Green Staley Pearson, Janet Green Reasons, Wanda Green Madden and Bruce Allen Green.  Grandchildren: Jessica Reasons Bauer (Ben), Kyle Reasons and great grandchildren Madison Bauer, Makenzie Bauer and Melody Bauer.

Helen was the most wonderful loving mother that four children could have been graced with.  She lived her life for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was quite the homemaker and seamstress gifted in many ways and expressed her talents in creating beautiful garments, draperies and decorative items for the home.  She became involved in the preservation of the Veranda a historic Victorian house in Valdosta's Fairview Historic District where she lived with her son and was the chef of the tearoom operated by the family.  She supported the efforts of the Valdosta Heritage Foundation and worked on the restoration of the Jones Kindergarten building at the historic Crescent Garden Center. She was also a talented gardener and was a member of the Azalea Garden Club in Valdosta working each year at the Annual Antiques Show to help raise funds for the Crescent.

Later while living in Woodstock she assisted her daughter and son-in-law in developing a beautiful landscape including a large stone wall, which she built herself.  Never letting her talents and energy lie idle, in her eighties she grew the flowers for her granddaughter's wedding.

She was incredibly resourceful, creative, and hardworking and loved everyone she met.

Graveside services for the immediate family will be held 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 1 at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Valdosta, Georgia.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
