Obituary

Howard James Clark, age 87, of Suwanee, GA passed away on Sunday December 5th. A funeral service will be held Thursday December 9th. Viewing: 11:00am - 1:00pm, Service: 1:00pm - 2:00pm at Piedmont Church, 570 Piedmont Rd., Marietta, GA 30066 . Interment will be at 1:00pm, December 29th at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA
Howard was born in Mount Vernon, Illinois and attended Hammond Technical High School in Indiana. After high school he enlisted in the Army. Howard met his wife, Judy (Papa) Clark, in Indiana at Church Camp; they were 16 and 14. Their love story
and life's journey took them across 65+ years through Colorado, Arizona, Hawaii and then to his final home here on earth in Georgia.
Family meant everything to him. He loved being surrounded by his daughters and their families as often as possible. Golf was his passion. He played at least once a week until last year. He was an amazing pencil artist, and had a huge heart and sense of humor that kept anyone near him entertained. He was full of life and volunteered at his church of 27 years as often as he could, in addition to being a member of the Gideons Association. He never met a stranger and most quickly called him a friend. He will be greatly missed by so many.
Howard retired in 2005 from his cherished Yeshiva HS. However, his great love for community quickly drew him out of retirement in 2008. He stepped into Home Depot and his co-workers quickly became friends.  When he retired in 2020, those friends had become family. Howard's love for meeting new people, wittingly interacting with those around him, and working with youth were joyfully fulfilled by his time at Home Depot and Yeshiva HS.
Howard is survived by his beloved wife, Judith (Papa) Clark; 5 adored daughters - Debra Poane, Judith Morrow,
Tamara McKinney, Pamela Clark, Karen Ferguson; 13 Grandchildren; 24 Great Grandchildren; 2
Great Great Grandchildren; 2 Brothers and 1 Sister.
