James "Jimmy" Boyd, 50, of Marietta, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020.  A private service will be held at Marietta Funeral Home on Saturday, July 11 with Rev. Rick Jones officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.  Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Cobb County, and a member of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his son, William Boyd of Marietta; mother, Thelma Boyd of Marietta; sisters, Rebecca (Danny) Eliassen of Port Charlotte, FL and Melody (Kerry) Schroeder of New Port Richey, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" Boyd and brother, Gerald Boyd.
