Janice Eloise Tinsley, 69, of Covington, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023.

Janice Tinsley was born April 24, 1953 in Marietta, GA to Walter Mayes Tinsley and Doris Jean "Barbara" Tinsley (Smith).

She leaves behind friend and partner, Kathy Thompson, her "kids", Jody Turnipseed (Rick), Andrea Thompson-Baumann (Brandon) and Dee Slaughter (Jerome), 4 granddaughters, Jaelyn Baumann, Ari Baumann, Taiyler Slaughter and Nadia Slaughter. She also leaves behind 2 brothers, Tony Tinsley and Tommy Tinsley and 1 sister, Darlene Dunn. She also leaves behind 5 nieces, Candy Varner, Joanie Tinsley, Melissa Jones, Jennifer Greene and Tifanie Hornby and 1 nephew, Tommy Tinsley. She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Barbara Tinsley as well as her grandparents.

Over Jan's life she touched many people. She served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged with the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class. When returning home she worked at Southern Tech in the business office and with Georgia Board of Regents in inventory control.

Jan's Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday, April 24, 2023 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church at 1:00 pm located at 2533 Stanton Road, SE in Conyers, Georgia. Interment will be April 25, 2023 at Georgia National Cemetery at 11:30 am, with military honors. The cemetery is located at 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia. If attending on the 25th plan to be there early to locate the site.
