Jean Bailey Chastain was born in 1933, in Kennesaw, Georgia and passed away December 8, 2022. She was a graduate of Marietta High School and worked over 46 years at Lockheed Martin. Jean met her husband, Glover, at Lockheed, and they were married in 1953. Jean was a decades long member of Christ Worship Center in Marietta, Georgia. She was the church clerk and published the weekly bulletin for many years. She also enjoyed entertaining and hosted many bridal showers and Christmas Open Houses. Jean loved to send cards to people and would start working on her Christmas cards for her extensive list in October. She also loved traveling, taking bus tours of the US and Europe, visiting Hawaii, and cruising the Caribbean and Alaska.
Jean is survived by her husband of 70 years. Other survivors include daughters, Lori Chastain of Marietta, GA and Shari Chastain of Kennesaw, GA.
Jean was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Logan Bailey and father, James Howard Bailey, and three brothers, who died in infancy prior to her birth.
The family will receive friends at Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Rd., Marietta, GA 30066 on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 5:00-7:00PM. A service will be held at Christ Worship Center, 3393 Canton Rd. NE, Marietta, GA 30066 on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2:00PM. Interment will take place at Mountain View Park Cemetery, 410 Whitlock Ave NW, Marietta, GA 30064 on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11:00AM.
