Jean (Jeanie) Baxter Parker, age 77, passed away on March 28th , 2023 surround by her children and grandchildren. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Jean was born March 10th , 1946 in Macon, Georgia. Daughter of Edna Duffell Cravey and Jack Cravey…… (Bill Baxter). She grew up in Macon, Georgia and graduated from Mcavoy High School in 1964. Jean continued her education at Georgia Southwestern University (Americus Georgia) earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1968. She was a member and the president of her sorority Zeta Tau Alpha.
After graduating from college, Jean married the love of her life, Carson Parker in June of 1968.
They were married for almost 54 years before Carson Passed away unexpectedly in May of
2022. Jean and Carson moved to Atlanta, Georgia ready to start their new life shortly after
graduating from college and getting married. They remained in the Atlanta area (Marietta,
Georgia) where they lived and happily raised their two children and were blessed with five
grandsons.
Jean was a teacher for over thirty years. She loved teaching children and helping them succeed
to be their very best. Education was extremely important to her. Over the years Jean taught
multiple grades and many subjects. She taught grades ranging from Kindergarten to High
School. Although she loved teaching regardless of the grade or subject, her favorite subjects to
teach were middle school Social Studies and Language Arts. Jean was an avid reader, loved
history, enjoyed traveling, and cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was a
member of Mountain View United Methodist Church in Marietta, Georgia.
Jean leaves behind her two children, Jennifer Parker Prewett (Scott), Jason Parker (Shay); five
grandsons, Hayden Prewett (23), Carson Parker (17), Zachary Prewett (15), Jase Parker (10), and
Davis Parker (10); two sister's Carol Headden (Ronnie), Susan Seling (John); two brothers
Barney Baxter (Carolyn), and Spencer Baxter (Liling); sister-in-law, Sandra Parker Linder; and her
many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held May 6th, at 1 pm at Mountain View United Methodist Church followed by a
reception at the same location.
