Jeanette Sosebee Lee, 94, of Kennesaw passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024.  Funeral services will be held 12:00pm Friday, November 15th with Rev. Mark Somers and Richard Walden officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00am-12:00pm prior to the service.  The burial will be private for the family only.

Jeanette was born in Griffin GA on December 8, 1929, to Merrill and Ruby Wiles Gooden.  She was a graduate from Manchester High School.  Her professional career included multiple medical positions, but her most loving career choices were being a wife, mother, granny, great granny and great great granny.  Jeanette was a member of Noonday Baptist Church.

Our mom loved the Lord, her family, her friends and life.  She continued to be a blessing for us all and her memories will bless us forever.  She was surrounded by loved ones and her favorite songs as she went on to be with the Lord.  She was an avid outdoorsman and began back when few women were.  She loved camping, hunting, fishing and in general just being outdoors.  Even after physical limitations became an issue she still enjoyed sitting in the woods, taking in all of Gods glory…nature.  She blessed each of us to not take for granted what daily perfections surrounded us, by pointing out trees, colors of leaves, birds, flowers, even rocks.  Anything that caught her eye would be discussed in wonder of God's handiwork.

There are no words to describe her spirit which cast such a bright light on the paths of her family, kindness, compassion, loving, faithful, they all fall short.  Thankfully for that we say no final goodbyes, our family says, "See you on the other side." You will be missed but never forgotten!

Jeanette was preceded in death by 1st husband Ralph E. Sosebee Jr. in 1987 and by 2nd husband Willie T. "Bill" Lee, Jr. in 2017; parents Merrill and Ruby Wiles Gooden; siblings Phil Gooden, Barbara Watford, Kay Smith; grandson Jason Mitchell and multiple beloved in laws and family members.

Jeanette is survived by her children, Martin (Angie) Sosebee, Dee Mitchell Upchurch (partner Mike) and Jeff (Chris) Sosebee; grandchildren, Brian (Susan) Mitchell and Jessica (Anthony) Bridges; step daughter-in-law, Anna Lee; step grandchildren, Kurtis Young, Courtney Whetzel, Sonrisa Garcia and Cristal Garcia; 9 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and last but never least her dearest friend of 70 plus years Sara Cross.
