John Foster, age 74 of Marietta, Ga, formerly of Blairsville, Ga. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 4, 2025.  John was a native of Blairsville, Ga having graduated from Union County High School.

John was a former EMT and later worked with Collins Funeral and retired from Marietta Funeral Home.

John and his wife, Debbie were avid southern gospel music fans and traveled with The Joymasters Quartet. Later became their sound man.  They made friends with lots of gospel singers.

He was survived by his wife and soul mate, Debbie Foster.  Also surviving is his daughter Christy (Cory) Souther.  The highlights of his life were his grandchildren, Samantha Souther, Emma Souther, CJ Souther, Drew Souther and Charleigh Souther of Hiram, Ga.  John was also survived by a sister Carolyn (Junior) Bridges of Blairsville, Ga.  Also nephews and nieces.

John was a die hard Georgia Bulldawg fan.

A funeral service will be held 2:00pm, Wednesday May 7th in the Elizabeth Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the Church.  Burial will be 12:00pm on Thursday in the New Union Baptist Church cemetery in Blairsville, GA.
