John E. Woolard III, 78, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away January 14, 2025. A Memorial Mass will be held at Transfiguration Catholic Church on February 1, 2025, at 11:30 a.m., followed by funeral services at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, McCool Junction, NE on June 13, at 10:00 a.m.

John was born in Junction City, Kansas, to Berl and Gertie Woolard and grew up in York, Nebraska. There he met the love of his life, Mary Frances Friend. They married and had seven children. John was a multi-talented man who had several career adventures, primarily in restaurant and property maintenance industries. His career path moved him and his family to Marietta, Georgia in 1985 where he continued these pursuits. He and his wife became active parishioners, of Transfiguration Catholic Church, which became a big part of their lives. John was a creative spirit who had diverse interests in cooking, art, writing, woodworking, and carving. He was also an avid angler, outdoorsman, and Cornhusker enthusiast. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was loved by many other family and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Berl and Gertie, his brother Harvey, his wife Francie, and his daughter Lori Hunt (Dan).

He is survived by his sister Sue Woolard and his children: John Woolard (Sally), Scott Woolard (Laurie), Cathy Samuel (Christian), Sheila Murray (Patrick), Sarah Wildey (Justin), Trish Meyer (John), eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
