Obituary

Kay Lawson of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022. She was born in Asheville, North Carolina on July 19, 1934 to Ruth (Greene) and Julian Allen. Kay had one brother, David Allen (deceased) who she loved very much and talked about often.

Kay's first marriage was to James Howard Bunch of Talking Rock, Georgia. They were married for thirty-four years, lived in Marietta and had three children- Eric (Alethia), Susan (Dean) Baker, and Clark (deceased).

She is survived by her grandchildren, Ryan (Amy) Bunch, Erica (Corey) Browning and Curtis "Bear" Bunch, as well as her great-grandchildren; Anslee, Michaela, and Skyler Bunch and Wyatt Browning.

Kay later married Ben Lawson. They loved sitting on the porch of their Ellijay house in the woods and traveling looking for "treasures" they could sell in their antique shop booth.

Kay loved to sing with her mom and dad, they shared many happy hours singing the current hits and hymns. She loved to dance, even receiving an award for her dance moves at the assisted living facility where she spent her last years. She made beautiful quilts and afghans. Later in life, she was a champion jigsaw puzzle worker and enjoyed trips with her daughter, Susan. As long as she was able, she read her Bible every day and looked forward to meeting her Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was a beautiful, loving wife and mother, always giving of herself to those she loved. She left this life with a smile attended by her children, Eric and Susan.

The family will hold a small celebration of life at a later date.
