Sunday June13, 2021 Kimberly Erin Edward Hawkins passed away at Heritage Hospice Center in Marietta Georgia. She had battled with COPD for 10 years and stage 4 lung cancer for the last two and a half years. She was born April 17th 1957 at Indian River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach Florida to C.G. (Doc) Edwards and Patricia King Edwards. She was a student of Rosewood Elementary, Clemmons Middle School, Vero Beach Junior High and Vero Beach High School class of 1975. In the mid 60's Kim and her sister Andrea (Andi) modeled for Amelie's clothing store. After high school she worked at Piper Aircraft as a secretary and later worked as a secretary and sales person for her dad at King's Ideal Supply in Vero Beach. She loved camping, going to the beach, traveling and going on cruises. Kim was the wife of William L. (Hawk) Hawkins of Acworth Ga where they have resided for the past 30 years.They have been together 42 years and married for 35 years. They were married in Vero Beach, Florida at Central Assembly of God by Pastor Buddy Tipton. When Kim moved to Acworth she worked at Barrellco in Kennesaw making aircraft parts, Krystal and Mcdonalds as well as being a housewife and mother. Later in the year 2000 she graduated with honors at Medix school. She is preceded by her father and mother Doc and Patti Edwards of Blairsville Georgia, Granddaughter Charlette Skye Watkins of Acworth and son-in-law Andrew Thomas Wills of Canton. Survivors are her sister Andrea Opper, brother-in-law Lloyd Opper and her nephew Travis Bennett of Vero Beach, Florida. Husband William L. (Hawk) Hawkins, four children Allicia Danielle Wills, William Matthew Hawkins, Erin Nicole Hawkins (Husband Christopher E. Watkins) and Katelynn Noelle Ellingsworth all residents of Cherokee County. Seven Grandchildren Andrew Devin Patrick Wills, Ashlie Devlin Nicole Wills, Christopher Alexander Watkins, Cheyenne Nicole Watkins, Harley Skye Watkins, Tara Quinn Watkins, Kadence Ella Owens. Two great grandchildren Deonte DeRay Curtis and Cameron Andrew Curtis. In lieu of Flowers please make donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta or any Pitbull Rescue. A memorial service will be held at Marietta Funeral Home on Thursday, June 24 at 3:00pm. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mariettafuneralhome.org
