Lawrence Glover Chastain was born in 1931, in Acworth, Georgia and passed away April 13, 2023.

He was a graduate of Cartersville High School and worked over 46 years at Lockheed Martin.  Glover met his wife, Jean, at Lockheed, and they were married in 1953.  Glover was a decades long member of Christ Worship Center in Marietta, Georgia.  He served as the Chief Usher, Sunday School Superintendent, a long-time deacon and on various committees over the years.  He loved working on cars and could repair anything with a motor.   He and his best friend, Howell Wilson, could be found working on their cars or cutting the grass at the church on most Saturdays.    He also enjoyed traveling, taking bus tours through the US and Europe, visiting Hawaii, and cruising the Caribbean and Alaska.

Glover is survived by his daughters, Lori Chastain of Marietta, GA and Shari Chastain of Kennesaw, GA.

Glover was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Chastain, mother, Romie Chastain, father, Mathie Chastain, sister Lula Bell Chastain and one brother, who died in infancy.

The family will receive friends at Christ Worship Center, 3393 Canton Road NE, Marietta, GA, 30066, on Tuesday, April 16th from 12:30pm – 2:00pm.  Reverends Gary Lewis and Dannie Hix will lead a celebration of life at 2:00pm at the church, with interment to follow at Mountain View Park Cemetery, 410 Whitlock Ave NW, Marietta, GA 30064

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Canterfield Assisted Living in Kennesaw and Agape Hospice for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jean Chastain Memorial Youth Camp Fund at Christ Worship Center in Marietta.
