Leona Bertha Roberson Tydings, 83, of Sunnyside, Ga. passed away Wednesday, February 20,2019.  She was born September 14, 1935 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Wallace E. Cahoon and Leona Rauch Cahoon. Leona was a 1953 graduate of Northside High School, Atlanta Ga. and retired from Gulf Life Insurance Company, Griffin, Ga., in 1982.

Leona came to reside in Sunnyside after she retired and was known by many in the Griffin, Ga. community as "the lady who ran the Bargain Store" at 600 Searcy Avenue.  Her interests and hobbies included auctions, flea markets, and fishing. She also had a passion for music. She was a church organist for over 55 years at various churches.  She was a faithful member of N-touch Christian Fellowship church where she loved worshipping the Lord through her music and fellowshipping with her church family.

She is survived by her husband of almost 19 years, Clement A. Tydings.  Also surviving are her daughter Wanda Brown Reynolds (Don); son Thomas David Roberson, Jr. (Debra); granddaughters Hannah Brown, Cheyenne Cook, Ashley Reynolds Newman (Justin),  grandson Jonathan Brown (Heather) and great-granddaughter Madison Brown.

A Memorial service will be given in her honor on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at  N-Touch Christian Fellowship Church, 210 Central Lake Circle, Griffin, Ga 30223 .  The service will be officiated by Pastor Steve Newman.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help the family with final expenses.  Please make donations payable to N-Touch Christian Fellowship and designate them for the "Leona Tydings Fund".
