Lucille Thompson Goodman, a long-time resident of Cobb County, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019. She was born on August 13, 1925 in Carrol County, GA to Farris and Medie Tant.

Lucille was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend to many. She enjoyed life to the fullest and heavily relied on her faith in God. She enjoyed her working years and ended her career as the manager of the Credit Bureau of Marietta. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter 208.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, D. S. Goodman, her son, Barry Thompson, and her daughter-in-love, Debbie Thompson. Survivors include daughter, Sharon Hardy of Woodstock, son, Steve Thompson (Debbie) of Canton, and daughter-in-love Brenda Thompson (Barry) of Lyons, GA; seven grandchildren, Kim Hardy, Karen McLaughlin, Mark, Blake and Joshua Thompson and Jacob Thompson and Ashley Matthews. She is also survived by eight great granddaughters and three step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 11 am in the chapel of Marietta Funeral Home with Rev. Mack Riley and Rev. Terry Phillips officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 5-8 pm at Marietta Funeral Home. Burial will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lucille's memory to St. Andrew UMC, 3455 Canton Road, Marietta, GA 30066.
