Margaret Finley
Middleton
Mar 26, 1952 — Sep 13, 2024
Due to likely dangerous weather conditions on Friday morning, the funeral service for Mrs. Middleton has been moved back to 1:00pm.
Margaret Finley Middleton was born on March 26, 1952 in Charleston, SC to the late Louise Finley Hall, and an honorable mention, to the late Thomas Hall, her father figure who loved her like his own. At an early age, the family relocated to New York, where she was raised by her grandparents Lawrence and Lucille Finley, who preceded her in death.
She completed her high school education at Roosevelt High School in 1970. She continued her education at Hunter Business School, where she received her certification in accounting. Margaret worked for Dime Community Bank for over 7 years and later furthered her career at Nassau County Department of Social Services, where she retired after 22.5 years of service.
She confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, and was baptized at Mount Sinai Baptist Church of Roosevelt, New York. She later continued her faith and became a member of Greater Second Baptist Church of Freeport, New York, and Antioch Baptist Church of Hempstead, New York where she served faithfully for over 4 decades within various ministries. What she cherished most were the hospitality ministry, youth ministry, and confirmation ministry. After retiring, she moved to Clarksville, Tennessee. Shortly after, she joined the City of David Christian Center.
Margaret was a devoted servant of God who held her family and church community close to her heart. She found joy in exploring new places, traveling, shopping, and cherishing moments spent with her loved ones.
Margaret was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend during her lifetime. She was affectionately known as "MeMe". MeMe peacefully departed this life surrounded by loved ones on Friday, September 13, 2024, in Marietta, Georgia, at the age of 72.
Margaret leaves behind to carry her legacy: her son, Curtis Taylor (wife Patreast), daughter Felicia Taylor, daughter Ashley Mathews (husband Reshard), her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memories: her beloved aunt Jeanette Finley McCutchen, her brother Steven Finley (wife Tracey), brother Thomas Finley, sister Vivian Hall, sister Sheila Harper (husband Darrell), sister Tina Hall, and brother Raymond Gayles.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 1pm at Marietta Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and visitors from 5:00pm - 8:00pm the evening prior.
Ms. Middleton will be laid to rest at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
