Obituary

Maurice (Reese) Glatzer of Roswell, Georgia passed away at his home on September 26, 2020.  He was born in Bronx, NY and moved to the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC in 1949.  Reese received a Naval Scholarship to attend the University of North Carolina and was commissioned an Ensign in the Navy at his graduation ceremony.  He served as an active duty aircraft carrier pilot for 5 years and remained in the Naval Reserve, retiring as a Captain in 1980.

Reese worked in the Civil Service positions in Washington, DC before moving to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, from 1974 until 1992.

An avid volunteer, Reese worked with Zoo Atlanta, the 1996 Olympic Games and with the Georgia Radio Reading Service (GaRRS), serving those with limited sight.

Reese is survived by his wife Kay, his daughter Vicki Cameron (Stephen), sons David (Mary) and Paul, four grandsons and one great-grandson.

There will be a Military Honors Ceremony held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
