Mr. Michael Wayne Meigel, 68, passed away on Thursday, May 20 th , 2021 in Hiawassee, Georgia.
He was born in Key West, Florida on June 17
th
, 1952, to Anthony and Elizabeth Meigel. Michael retired from ITW Chemtronics after 27 dutiful years, never being late or missing a day once. Michael made many great memories fishing with his son and bowling on a team with his wife. He had a great passion for woodworking, having built many beautiful pieces of furniture for his family and friends. Over the last couple years, Michael spent time catching up on old western movies and shows. The TV was always on John Wayne, Gunsmoke or anything western themed, new or old. He was also very fond of his 3 pugs; Tonka, Blondie, and especially Connie, who spent her last years as a faithful companion despite her failing health.
T he family will receive visitors at Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Rd., Marietta, GA, 30066, on Monday, May 24 th , 2021 from 6:00PM till 8:00PM. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 25 th , 2021, 2:00PM at New Home Baptist Church Cemetery, 987 Wiley Bridge Rd., Woodstock, GA 30188.
Preceding Mr. Meigel in death are his parents, Anthony Augustine Meigel and Elizabeth Ann Meigel; grandson, Ron Deutsch; brother, Denis Meigel; and sister-in-law, Eileen Meigel.
Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Gladys "Jewell" Meigel; son, Michael Meigel, East Islip, NY; daughters, Darlene (Frank) Deutsch of Lakeside, TX, Brenda (Randy) Cabe of Cartersville, GA, Becky (Jim) Guyer of Herkimer, NY, Pam (Jack) East of Savannah, GA, and Debbie (Ray) Horner of Ilion, NY; brother, David Meigel of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Amy, Kayla, Alysha, Katelyn, Tabatha, Tyler, Trey, Jay Mike, Alex, Geran, and Zach; and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tristen.
