Patricia Furlow King, age 83, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Imogene and Timothy McBride (Mack) Furlow, Sr., of Americus, Georgia; and the sister of the late Timothy McBride (Tim) Furlow, Jr., formerly of Griffin, Georgia. Patty was born on June 16, 1943, at Fort Benning, Georgia. She graduated from Americus High School in 1960 and, in 1964, from the University of Georgia with Honors in Early Childhood Education. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, where she made many lifelong friends.

After college, she married Charles Brewster King, Jr. on February 25, 1967, in Americus, Georgia. They moved to San Diego, CA, where Charlie was stationed in the Navy. After he served tours in Vietnam and the Philippines, they returned to Atlanta, where Patty taught in the DeKalb County elementary schools for several years before becoming a homemaker and mother.

Patty loved gardening and was a longtime member of the Ansley Park Garden Club. She was a member of Ansley Golf Club for more than 50 years. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with friends & family, entertaining, and hosting parties. Patty was a member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, where she served many years on the Altar Guild and as a founding member of the Blazers Sunday school class.

Patty is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charlie; daughter, Jennifer Fletcher (Duncan); granddaughters, Hannah Parks (Tyler) and Gabrielle Fletcher; great-grandchildren, Charles Parks, Bruce Parks, and Anja Parks.

A memorial service will be held at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, 3180 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, Georgia, 30305

on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 2 pm.
