Phillip "Phil"
Glenn Harris
Jun 23, 1942 — Sep 15, 2025
Phillip "Phil" Glenn Harris, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in Marietta, Georgia, in September 2025. Born on June 23, 1942, in Erwin, Tennessee, Phillip was the son of Sam Harris Jr. and Ruby Mae Lloyd. He grew up in Erwin, where he attended Unicoi County High School and began a lifelong journey rooted in hard work, generosity, and devotion to family.
On April 28, 1963, Phillip married Barbara Ann Rice. Together, they built a loving home and raised four children: Donna Logsdon spouse (Michael), James Harris spouse (Beth), Debra Ashworth spouse (Marlon), and the late Larry "Peewee" Harris. Phillip was also a proud grandfather to Andrea Shurtleff (JT), Cody Harris (Rachel), Lauren White (William), Ashley Woody (John), Emily Mieldezis (Austin), and Corey Harris, and a great-grandfather to Hadley, Camden, Charlotte, and Noah.
Phillip's professional life was marked by a passion for craftsmanship and mentorship. After working as a paint sales representative for Sherwin Williams, he found his calling in vocational education, teaching auto-body repair to young students. In 1979, he founded Woodstock Quality Paint & Body, which he expanded in 1996, leaving a lasting mark on the community and the industry.
Outside of work, Phillip was a man of many passions. He loved dirt track racing, hunting, fishing, and coaching youth baseball and peewee football. He split his time between his home in Marietta and his cherished farm in Upson County, where he welcomed all who shared his love for the outdoors.
Phillip was preceded in death by his siblings Barbara Chandler and Larry Harris and is survived by his sister Barbara Yanchuk. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched through his work, his generosity, and his unwavering love for his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a cause close to Phillip's heart.
Phillip Harris will be remembered for his warmth, his wisdom, and the joy he brought to those around him. His spirit will live on in the stories shared, the lessons passed down, and the love that continues to grow in his family.
