Rebecca Joan Bloodworth, lovingly known as Joan, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at the age of 95. Her final moments were spent surrounded by her loving family, including her devoted husband, Ed Bloodworth. Joan's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the beauty of cherished memories.

Joan and Ed celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on April 1, 2025. Their journey together was filled with adventures that became cherished memories. Their bond was one of love, and it was fitting that Joan's departure occurred on a warm spring day, a time when nature itself was blossoming, reflecting her love for gardening. Among her favorite blooms were azaleas and dogwoods, which she nurtured with great care.

Joan's heart was big enough to encompass her six children, 19 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Her ability to make everyone feel special was a testament to her nurturing spirit. Family gatherings were her happiest times, and she never missed an opportunity to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, or any significant events in her loved ones' lives.

Born on November 11, 1929, to Samuel Walton and Millie Sumner Bell in Sycamore, GA, Joan was the sixth of seven children. Her upbringing in a large family instilled in her the values of kinship and togetherness. She is preceded in death by her brothers Samuel (Junior) and Thomas Bell, and her sisters Elaine, Helen, Jean, and Nell. The loss of her beloved son Randall (Randy) Bloodworth was also a profound sorrow she bore with grace.

In her final days, Joan found strength and comfort in her Christian Faith. Her unwavering belief was a source of strength for others. She was beloved in her community

A service to celebrate Joan's life will be held on Tuesday, April 22, at Mount Paran North Church, Marietta, GA at 1:00 PM, followed by a reception. Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Samaritans Purse , a cause that resonates with Joan's generous spirit.

The legacy of Rebecca Joan Bloodworth is one of love, dedication, and joy. Her life touched many, and her memory will continue to be a blessing to all who knew her.
