Richard Eller was born on December 5, 1940 in Tallassee, AL. He graduated from Elmore County High School in 1959. He then went on to attend the University of Alabama in Montgomery and worked for the State of Alabama for several years.  The late 1960's brought him to Atlanta where he would start his career in the mortgage software industry. His career would span for more than 50 years taking him all over the world.  Richard loved to travel with his family. His travels took him to the foothills of Tennessee, Big Sky Montana, Alaska, the Caribbean Islands, Bermuda, Spain, and to the Rock of Gibraltar.  Throughout his life, he had a passion for sports that led him to refereeing for over 17 years. He retired in 2008, which allowed him to enjoy his favorite hobby of gardening.  He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Woodstock and was involved in the Love Loud Projects & the International Student Ministry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carnell and Clarice Eller, his sister Betty Carter, brothers Raymond (Bud), and Jim Eller.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Eller, his three children Derek Eller, Rachel Eller Baydar and David Eller. Grandchildren Tyler Eller, Harrison Eller, Jackson Eller, Naomi Eller, Korbin Baydar and Benjamin Eller and numerous nieces and nephews.  Sister Paula Castleberry and brother Bill Eller, and his precious terrier Naula.

Pallbearers will be Terry Lavender, Nick Fulk, Tyler Eller, Harrison Eller, Jackson Eller, and Heath Tatum.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Wray, Randy Chadwick, Wayne Castleberry, Korbin Baydar, and Benjamin Eller.
