Robert Fuller Salmond, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025. He was born on September 6, 1936, in Lockhart, Alabama, to the late Francis G. Salmond and Blanche Fuller Salmond.
Robert graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1962 and enjoyed a successful 30-year career with Shell Oil Company, retiring in 1991. He was married to the late Martha J. Thrasher for 32 years. In retirement, he treasured time with family, beach trips with close friends, exploring his family's genealogy, and perfecting his role as a connoisseur of barbecue.
He is survived by his son, Mike Salmond, and daughter, Mary Beth Salmond; five beloved grandchildren; his sister, Beth Manners (George); and his brother, William G. Salmond (Jeanne). He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his former wife, Martha J. Thrasher; his son, Robert G. Salmond; his sister, Blanche Salmond Bowers; and his brother, Burwell B. Salmond III.
He will be remembered with love for his warm smile, inquisitive mind, and deep devotion to his church, family, and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 18, at 11:00 AM at Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.
