Russell B. Putman of Marietta, GA passed away at 99 years of age on December 10, 2024.

He was born in Washington, D.C. on May 11, 1925, to the late Wilfred B. and Martha H. Putman. He graduated from McKinley High School and served in the US Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1946. He worked as an assistant manager in the parts department at LP Stewart in Silver Spring, Maryland, and for Maryland Motors as a new car inspector in Rockville, MD. Russ later worked as a real estate salesman and as a night watchman. He enjoyed DC sports and was a fan of the Redskins and Senators. He also loved to travel in his spare time.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred V. (Coffelt) Putman, his brother, Raymond S. Putman (Peg), and his sister, Margaret A. (Putman) Tholen (Albert).

He is survived by his son; Robert R. Putman; daughter-in-law, Mary. W. Putman; grandson, Jared R. Putman (Devina); granddaughter, Erica Putman Veto (Emily); and great-granddaughter, Nina Putman.

He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Russ was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 10:00am at Sterling Estates (East Cobb) in Marietta, GA.
